Day 59: Tulane's library

Today was crazy hard for me to get motivated. I just want to sleep in, flip through magazines, and relax in the sun. Alas it is not possible <sigh>, so I attempted to work within my limitations and trick myself into action with a change of venue: Main Campus Library. Problem is, they were closed until noon. (How did the Undergrads get an additional day off of school?) So I headed to Tulane's law library where I was incredibly frustrated by lack of readily available guest internet access while being tremendously impressed with a few little things that I think are the proverbial bomb! 1. They have a free electronics charging station in the library. How great is that? 2. You can reserve a carrell for research for a month. Again supercool! No looking for pens and highlighters, starting and stopping research with some books and having to put them back. Just leave it all there in your temporary desk. Awesome! 3. And best of all, it is WARM!!! OH, GLORY!  Do not casually dismiss the role a thermostat can play in the definition of your day, my friends. The frigid nature of the library can make it unbearable to sit still, type, read, stay alert. Why just today, I was talking with a fellow 1L and she shared that sitting in the library, at times she finds herself dozing as her body tries to shut itself down and conserve its energy to keep from freezing to death. Outlandish? I say thee nay! I have done it myself. And here I thought I must be anemic. I say we stand together and fight (in a peaceful non-threatening way). We must find out how to get the printers replaced with high volume printers to stop the misery that is the broken printer. More importantly, we must petition the Administration for a more temperate climate in the library ... soon as finals are over. Until then we may suffer but can sustain ourselves and our spirits with thoughts of peaceful civil rights campaigning for the benefit of all! Solidarity!!!
