Day 37: Roller coaster day

Some aspects of today were outstanding while others were well not so much. Finagled a copy of the highly recommended New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Era of Colorblindness from the library. That was big deal because the librarian had to get a faculty member to return it so I could check it out. (Yay!) Then there was Torts. Great class but apparently a sports widow can be awarded $1M for a mausoleum and burial expenses for her dearly departed, but a 3 year old only gets $20K for the wrongful death of her mother. (Boo!) Submitted application for JLNO and scheduled a meeting with the professor for The Washington Center. (Yay!) Continued the ongoing struggle that is my writing sample for externship application. (Boo!) Had a great idea for a Lambda social function, spent some time at VITA getting ramped up for my Saturday shift, and actually learned a little something in Property. (Yay!) So ups and downs, but more good than bad.
