Day 16: Legal resume

'Tis the season to start looking for a Summer internship. I had a Spring internship, but gave it up because I couldn't manage to add it to my proverbial plate. The good people at GNOFAC took my "who I used to be" resume and never said an unkind word about the format or lack of legal experience. However, my career counsellor demands a "legal resume" and it is killing me. I have literally been procrastinating and periodically working on this for weeks and it still isn't done. Know what the kicker is? I have nothing to put on it! (Augh!) Truthfully, I look at this thing and think surely SOMETHING I have done is transferrable. But the answer is "no, not so much". I mean I am highly educated with an advanced degree and professional (non-legal) certifications... which all translate into much of nothing since I can't write a 50pg brief to save my life and am not top 15% of my class. <sigh> One of my classmates told me today "it's like getting ready for a date and you say you have nothing to wear. JUST PUT SOMETHING ON!" He's right. Guess I'll send her this pathetic representation of myself and start networking. Hope the "good ol' boys" think I am amusing enough to give a job. =)
